Last week the Director met with the President of the Law Institute of Victoria, Ms Tania Wolff, and the CEO, Mr Adam Awty, to discuss the Law Library strategy and the LIV’s role with the Library.
The Director was pleased to attend the first Victorian Bar Library Committee meeting for 2021 at the invitation of the Chair, and looks forward to further improving library services to barristers throughout the year.
The Director also met with the Commissioner and other representatives of the Victorian Legal Services Board to discuss how the Library can assist the profession by strengthening practitioner's research skills.
Library staff welcomed Ierodiaconou AsJ to a team discussion about the Court's wellbeing programmes and initiatives, sharing her Honour’s personal stories about mindfulness and self-care. In addition, Dr Paul Vout QC met with Library staff to share his professional experiences, focusing on court protocols and expectations of the judiciary and the profession.
On 17 March, the Library Committee met to discuss several topics, including the approval of a new IT Policy for the Library. The Committee comprises representatives from the jurisdictions, the Victorian Bar, and the Law Institute of Victoria.
