The Law Library of Victoria is committed to quality law reporting. The Director, as Librarian of the Supreme Court, sits ex officio on the Council of Law Reporting in Victoria.
The Library is involved with the production of the Victorian Reports, and purchases all Australian authorised law report series, most specialist series, and a wide range of international titles, mostly from other common law jurisdictions.
Promotion of and instruction in law reporting forms part of day-to-day business for the Library. For instance:
• 112 Victorian practitioners have completed the Case Law eLearning module that explains and promotes law reports.
• 15 educative seminars directly aimed at authorised reports, and a further 18 sessions that mention the authorised reports. More than 1000 participants attended these sessions.
• The Library website includes dedicated pages with instruction on law reports.
• Promotion via social media of law reporting and law reports.
The Library is pleased to promote the Victorian Reports to all readers of the Library Bulletin. If you don’t already have a subscription, you can easily
arrange one, direct from the publisher at www.victorianreports.com.au
