The Library Committee held its quarterly meeting and noted the continued increase in use of the library. Library activity and operations are guided by and aligned with the Committee’s strategy for the Library.
In April, the Library hosted a retirement function for Justice Tate. It was a pleasure to see Justice Tate warmly farewelled by colleagues and friends. The Library thanks her Honour for her support of the Library and wishes her well in retirement.
The Director hosted a tour of the Library for the newly appointed CEO of the Magistrates Court, Simon Hollingsworth and some of his colleagues and discussed the library’s support of Magistrates. The Trinity Choir with the Hon. David Harper, visited the Library and the Director looks forward to future opportunities for the Choir to perform.
The Director and the team have met with the Law Institute of Victoria. The Director met with the President of the Victorian Bar for a quarterly update. The Library values these important meetings and continues to develop initiatives to assist the profession.
Following the passing of the Spent Convictions Bill in Victoria, the Director met interstate colleagues to share knowledge in this area.
