From the Director

Part of the secret to a well-run library is the extensive resource-sharing network of librarians across the country and the world. The Director lead discussions recently at the National Library of Australia about streamlining resource sharing amongst hundreds of participating libraries. This will improve our services to you - from wherever you choose to access library services.
Another peak 'behind the scenes' follows the Library auditors' annual report and briefing to the Library Committee. Our financial services team, in particular the Library Finance Officer Katherine Chan, was acknowledged for their high standards and hard work. The auditors also noted the correlation between the Library's collection and the catalogue records, gaining a 100% tick of approval from the auditors - well done team!
As well as the rich discussions in the past month with the Victorian Bar, the County Court, the Council of Law Reporting and the Legal Practitioners Liability Committee, the Director was delighted to host a delegation of Taiwanese Judges who admired the Library's physical presence and appreciated the focus on digital resources and services. The Library was the venue for a celebratory morning tea for recently appointed Silks, and a music recital featuring judges of the Federal Court, and Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
