Supreme Court Library Mining Law display

From Monday 14 August, the Library will be hosting a display about Mining Law. The Supreme Court of Victoria has played an important role in the development of mining law in Australia, beginning with the discovery of gold and the creation of the Court of Mines in the 19th century. In the 20th century mining activity centred on coal, gas and later oil. All of these had important consequences for company law, environmental law and employment law.

As well as the display, the Library will have a shelf of books relating to this topic for visitors to peruse.

The display will be on show during Library hours.
