The Law Library of Victoria invites you to participate in our Switch on... information sessions. These twenty-five minute sessions are suited to judicial officers, court staff, legal professionals, law students, and anyone with an interest in the law.

This session, presented by the staff of the Chief Parliamentary Counsel Office who draft the Bills, will inform you about the Victorian legislative process. Find out the facts behind the process, from setting the legislative program, drafting of Bills, and the passage of Bills from Parliament through to the commencement of legislation.

On Friday 3 February 2017, the Supreme Court of Victoria will mark the 50th anniversary of Ronald Ryan's death with a re-enactment of parts of the trial in Court 4 - where Ryan's trial took place. This will be followed by brief remarks in the Library with special guests Brian Bourke, Barry Jones AC and Mike Richards introduced by the Honourable Chief Justice Marilyn Warren.

BottledSnail Productions and the Law Library of Victoria presents Twilight Songs Under the Dome.

Featuring performances from Habeas Chorus and vocalist Bruce Hardy, violin sonata by Xinyu Zhang and Paul Glass, piano quintet by Julia Gillies, Sarah Gilkes, Victoria Konya, Aimee Nguyen and Xinyu Zhhang. Special guests Anatoly Documentov and Natalya Seliverstova will perform piano works for four hands by Grieg.

Tickets are $15 and all profits from the concert will be donated to the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation.

The Law Library of Victoria invites you to participate in our 25 minute "Switch on..." information sessions. These small group sessions will provide you with:

  • tips and tricks for using well-known resources
  • refine your skills in quickly accessing information
  • introduce you to lesser-known products

This session will be an introduction to the Victorian Reports Quick Guide, developed by the Library for our community. You will come away with tips on using the Victorian Reports website - browsing, searching, viewing reports, printing, bookmarking, and more.
