- Library Services
The Law Library offers a unique service to Victorian judges, their associates and court staff engaging with the Library on the judges’ behalf.
Resources available to judges include an enormous range of digital and hard copy information, including case law from LexisNexis and Westlaw and other licensed content. The Library website includes legal research guides and links to resources, so information can be accessed at any time. Judges need to be logged in to the Library website to access this content.
The Judges' Library is designed to give Judicial Officers and court staff fast access to any information they need, including from interstate and international law library collections if necessary. Our reference librarians work one on one with the judge, associate or court staff to assess the query and determine which resources are most relevant and useful. They then arrange timely access. There is no time limit on this service – our librarians will work with judges and their staff until they have all the information they need.
The Library provides legal research training for judges, their associates and court staff to help them navigate the Library's resources and understand how we can assist.
To find out more about the judges' library service, contact our librarians on 8600 2009, or email email@example.com.
The Law Library of Victoria and CSV have established multi-year agreements with the major legal publishers (CCH, LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters) for the provision of publication subscription services.
Subscriptions are managed by the Library on behalf of each Jurisdiction.
For all subscription matters please contact the Library at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Library has also negotiated some great discount pricing for print and digital book resources. All Judges and Court staff can enjoy these discount rates. More information is available here.
