Library Collections

The Law Library of Victoria collection spans centuries of legal information, with the first items donated to the Library in the early 1850s by local legal practitioners wishing to build a shared resource for the Victorian legal community. These days, purchasing decisions are made by the Librarian according to principles articulated in the Collection Management Policy, adopted by the Law Library of Victoria Committee in 2015, and refreshed in 2018. It is Victoria’s only collection curated specifically for Victoria’s judiciary and practitioners.
